During the Covid lockdowns we managed to raise £900, which came from a handful of very generous people. This money helped pay for the yearly subscription on the website, along with the Ancestry subscription and DNA testing. It also contributed towards visiting historical places around the UK and Scotland once the lockdown measures were lifted. All of this was documented on the Blog page, giving people the chance to live vicariously through me during a time when nobody could travel.

We also travelled to Malta to explore the history of the Knights of Malta, which helped some of our followers in the States understand more about their own heritage and where their stories connect.

A portion of this money was put aside for a crisis fund for our family members, which you will read about in the next section. That £900 genuinely helped shape the early vision for the Royal Dragon Court. At the time, I had hoped fundraising would eventually allow us to buy land, although I wasn’t delusional — I knew it wouldn’t touch the surface of what was actually involved.

In 2021, I was able to sell my house and buy the land myself, which I named De Vere Farm. This land was once owned by my ancestors, and as I continue to build the farm, I hope to use sustainable methods our ancestors once used. The farm forms part of the wider De Vere heritage legacy, under the Sovereign and Grand Duchy of Drakenberg.

There was a war around 2018–2021 where my cousin Arif needed an escape fund in case his house got bombed. His area on the Pakistan–Afghanistan border was being threatened with takeover by terrorists, and with extremists crossing the border, raids, bombings and Taliban advances, it was a dangerous time. I wanted to make sure he had the funds to get a flight out immediately if things got worse.

This region has been caught between Taliban movements, ISIS-K attacks and constant instability since the collapse of Afghanistan in 2021, and anyone involved in culture, history or community leadership—like Arif—was at high risk. He has worked tirelessly in his area to rebuild and preserve his history and culture, pretty much on his own with no outside support, so making sure he could escape if needed was essential.

Anyone who understands the Dragon bloodline knows we come from the Tajikistan and Scythian regions, and this area is part of our ancestral home. We are finding out daily that we are all related, and our goal to provide real humanitarian aid will always come first. This is the Dragon way.. 

 In 2025 we launched the Dragon Publishing Scholarship Program, a new branch of our charitable work designed to support genuine authors who have real potential but lack the financial means to publish professionally. This program gives selected writers full publishing support at no cost to them — cover design, formatting, ISBNs, platform setup and guidance — funded entirely through the generosity of our supporters. It has already become a buzzing hive of energy, and we look forward to watching these authors grow under the Dragon Publishing banner. 

This year we also bagged up ten full bags of clothing and donated them to the local clothes bank. These donations are sorted by the organisation and either sold to raise funds for homeless people or given directly to those who need them most. It’s a simple way to support vulnerable families in the community, and something we will continue to do whenever we’re able.
